Porcelain veneers, alternatively termed dental veneers or dental porcelain laminates, are wafer-thin shells of porcelain that are bonded onto the front side of the teeth so to create a cosmetic improvement for a tooth. Porcelain veneers are routinely used by dentists as a way to make cosmetic changes for teeth that are discolored, worn, chipped, or misaligned.
Bonding’s are a very popular cosmetic procedure for minor dental corrections, bonding – also known as Composite bondings – is a quick and affordable way to correct a variety of flaws such as:
- Low Bite Pressure (caused by short or uneven teeth)
- Tooth Decay
In a procedure known as crown lengthening, we are able to extend the height or size of the portion of the tooth that is visible above the gumline. For the stability of your crown, there must be enough tooth structure for it to hold it in place. When your tooth has broken down, or when tooth decay has extended below the gum line, crown lengthening can reduce the gum tissue and bone level in order to gain better access to your tooth. This can also be used cosmetically to remove excess gum from your smile line!
